Throwback Thursday: Thank You

It's been a little while since I've done a throwback Thursday post, but this is one I've had ready and waiting for Thanksgiving. It's Wednesday, I know, but as much as I love all of you, I want to spend the day with my family instead of blogging!

This is a collage I made of things I've thankful for. I can't remember how I old I was when I made this, it might have been ninth grade. Anyway, things I am (or was) thankful for (in no particular order; I'm just reading it off the collage!):
  • Arabian horses
  • My church, LifeSpring Christian Church.
  • Today
  • Truth
  • Sunshine
  • Photography
  • John Deere tractors
  • Hugs
  • Hands
  • Prayer
  • America
  • A good life
  • Dreams
  • Horses
  • A voice
  • Insect repellent
  • Birthday candles
  • Bananas
  • Smiles
  • Sales (specifically on music, shoes, electronics, pets, and books!)
  • All the months
  • Dandelion puffs
  • Ohio
  • Peace
  • Electricity
  • My youth group
  • Stars
  • Toy horses
  • Bandaids
  • Gifts
  • Vision
  • Duct Tape
  • Christmas
  • Ohio State Football
  • Nature
  • Victory
  • Color
  • The $1 section at Target
  • Family
  • Brothers and sisters
  • Carousels
  • Choices
  • Snacks, desserts, and refreshments
  • Warmth
  • Memories
  • Chocolate
  • Friends and family
  • Wind
  • Dressage (a style of horse-back riding)
So that's what I'm thankful for.

I also have a poem I wrote about all my favorite things, it's called "What I'm Thankful For". I know, pretty original, right? It goes like this:

Rain on  windows, sun behind clouds,
Roof o'er my head, leaves on the ground.
Beautiful sights, music and sound,
Birds in the sky, flow'rs on the ground.
Shoes on my feet, cool dirt, soft and brown,
Clothes on my back, God's blessings abound!
Family from 'far, all gathered round,
Food in our stomachs, grins 'stead of  frowns.
Children off playing with leaps and bounds,
Laughter and giggles, kids rushing around.
Friends in far places, planes land on firm ground,
Looking at photos, old mem'ries new-found.
Hot cider and fires, books newly bound,
Warm blanket and hoodie, chocolate by the pound!
Bowling and rafting, good fun to found,
Friend's laughter and hugs, God's love all around.
Milk and fresh cookies, bellies quite round,
Cool chocolate pie, horses and hounds.
Heaven above, folks safe and sound,
People rejoicing, wearing God-given crowns.

I might have been a fan of apostrophes. I might still be a fan of 'postrophes, actually ;)

Finally, I'm thankful for wonderful readers like you!!! Have a happy Thanksgiving!
